Presented is a great English Georgian sterling silver platter spoon or stuffing spoon. This piece dates to 1781. The spoon has a long handle with a downward turn at the end. The end of the handle has a monogram of R, possibly over a monogram removal.
If there was a monogram removal in the past, it was quite well done. This piece is hallmarked on the underside with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head crowned for the city of London, the date letter f for 1781, and a maker's mark of TN, likely for Thomas Northcote or Thomas Nash. This piece is in great overall condition. There is some surface wear, but nothing of any significance. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, and no repairs. The spoon is about 11 1/2 inches long. This piece weighs 94.5 grams or 3.3 regular ounces. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution. This item is in the category "Antiques\Silver\Non-U.
