Antique 1791 English Georgian Sterling Silver Peter Anne Bateman Soup Ladle 13
Presented is an antique, English sterling silver punch or soup ladle made by Peter and Anne Bateman of London in 1791. This late 18th century, Georgian piece is done in a classic, rounded end form. This is a very large and heavy piece.

The back is marked with the crowned leopard's head for the city of London, the lion passant for sterling silver purity, a duty mark of the king's head, a date letter q for the year 1791 and a maker's mark for Peter & Ann Bateman. This piece is in good overall condition for especially for its age. There has likely been a monogram removal to the top of the handle.

The bowl of the ladle has a high polish and probably has had a dent or two professionally removed, although I can see no traces of such. There is some minor pitting to the bowl and a minor surface scratch to the handle. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution. This item is in the category "Antiques\Silver\Sterling Silver (.
