Presented is an antique, sterling silver hand basket made in London, England in 1792. This 18th century, Georgian piece is done in a classic, pedestal, handled basket form.

The body is pierced with a heart and star design along the outside edge and embellished with bright cut engraving and dots. The hinged handle has a threaded band of design. This piece has never been monogrammed. The body is marked with the crowned leopard's head for the city of London, the lion passant for sterling silver purity, a duty mark of the king's head, and a date letter r for the year 1792. This piece is in great condition, especially considering its age.
