Offered here for your consideration is a fine Georgian sterling silver toddy ladle. It has engraving around the rim of the bowl and to the stem. It has a period baleen twist handle.
It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition, some creases and bends here and there, some edge wear, some fine & light surface scratches, and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. There is a possible repair in the shoulder or beginning of the silver stem. There is a skip in the engraving on both the left and right of the stem. So, it was likely buffed on a wheel. There is also visible solder at the drop, which could also be original. The baleen handle shows some bug damage. Hallmarked for London / SH fo Solomon Houghman / 1792 / and Sterling.
