The piece is 7 ½ inches long by about 4 1/8 inches wide by 4 1/8 inches tall at the handle tip and weighs 399 grams. It has a scroll handle and stands on three scroll and shell feet with shell attachments. It has an engraved crest of a lion head facing right over a feather or leaf. It is marked on the foot a scratch weight of "13-7" and London hallmarks for 1738-39 and a maker's mark of I. F in a shaped surround. Condition on the piece is fairly good. There a body cracks on both sides of the handle attachment, the left just a bit but the right about 3/8 inch long. It is a bit overpolished, possibly buffed lightly at some point, and there are a couple of small body dents.
