A very good quality, Antique, George IV, English Silver Presentation Snuff Box made by John Bettridge of Birmingham and dating from c1823. The inside of the base is hallmarked with the maker's mark IB for John Bettridge, the Birmingham anchor town mark and date letter Z for 1823/24. The inside of the lid with the Monarch's Head duty mark, the maker's mark IB and Lion Passant sterling silver mark.
The exterior of the box with decorative engine turned engraving top and bottom and a reeded finish to the sides. The lid with a presentation inscription "Colonel Palmer from Joe Lynch".
