ANTIQUE GEORGE IV, ENGLISH STERLING SILVER SNUFF BOX, NATHANIEL MILLS c1826. A very good quality, Antique, George IV, English Silver Snuff Box dating from c1826. The inside of the base is hallmarked with the maker's mark "NM" for Nathaniel Mills, the Birmingham "anchor" town mark and date letter for 1826/27. The lid with the Monarch's Head duty mark, the Lion Passant Sterling Silver mark and maker's mark "NM".
The exterior of the box with engine turned engraving base and to all the sides. The lid with armorial crest. The box measures 77mm x 46mm x 17mm. The weight is 90.0g.
The box is in very good overall condition, some light wear to the engraving on the base. A nice box by a sought after maker, it would make a lovely addition to any collection.
